PepsiCo substitutes DLF Ltd., as the title sponsor, starting with the 2013 season.  DLF Ltd a real estate giant, did not exercise their right to renew the contract, perhaps, due to slump in the real estate market and drop in the IPL's television ratings in the previous two years. PepsiCo's contract of five years ending with the 2017 season, is worth INR396.8 crore. Where as the initial five-year contract of DLF Ltd., was to the tune of INR250 crore, that ended with the previous season.

Indian Premier League 2009 Champions, Deccan Chargers and the Hyderabad based franchise failed to submit the bank guarantee to the cricket board and was terminated from IPL after Kochi. Consequent to theDeccan Chargers' termination, the BCCI basing on the bids received, declared that Sun TV Network won the bid for INR85.05 crore per year. The new team named Sunrisers Hyderabad is also Hyderabad based.
